I’m after something that actually hydrates and sinks in quickly, without leaving my fingers greasy for ages.
What’s the best cuticle cream do you think? What worked for you?

This one works especially if your cuticles get really dry or cracked. It’s thick and buttery in the tin, and you only need a tiny bit- like really tiny- and it soaks into my cuticles right away. You can put it on when they start peeling or use a bit early as a preventive measure.
Since you don’t want greasy fingers afterward, Sally Hansen one might be a better option than a thick balm. It sinks in quick without leaving a film. Creams handle regular care fine, but if your cuticles are extra dry at night, you can layer a cuticle oil over it. It does have a pretty strong tropical scent though, so maybe pass if you prefer no fragrance.
Hard as Hoof might be worth a look alongside the Sally Hansen one.
It’s a nail-strengthening cream that you massage into your nails (and cuticles), so it handles both. Like a 2-in-1. There’s a pretty strong coconut smell but a lot of people with thin or peeling nails from years of acrylics or gels use it, since it works on the nail and the dry skin around it.
Burt’s Bees Lemon Butter Cuticle Cream. A tiny scrape is enough and it soaks in within a minute if you rub it in. The greasy feeling is usually from using too much.
CND Solar Oil if you want something even lighter. I keep the pen version in my bag and the tin at my desk.
Eucerin Advanced Repair Hand Cream. It absorbs fast and doesn’t leave a waxy film, so it’s what I use on my cuticles.
I rub a small dab into each nail after washing my hands. It’s also fragrance-free, which matters if your cuticles are cracked or get irritated easily.
OPI ProSpa Protective Hand, Nail and Cuticle Cream. Best one I’ve used. Sinks in fast without leaving greasy fingers.
I rub it into the cuticle and the corners where the skin gets tight and starts to split. After a minute they soften enough that I can push the cuticle back without tearing anything. The snagging stopped too (sweaters, mostly).
It takes a few days of using it regularly before the peeling settles down.
Fragrance-free really does make a difference, since anything scented always stings my cuticles when they get cracked in the winter.
The Solar Oil pen sounds handy for a bag. I’d worry about it leaking all over the lining.
Does the pen hold up when it’s getting tossed around with everything else in there?
Put it on while skin’s still a little damp after washing your hands, it works better than when it’s bone dry and already cracking.
I use the Eucerin on my cuticles too but it doesn’t do much to soften a stubborn cuticle you want to push back. For that I still end up with a drop of oil on top.
