I’m really curious about glass foot files right now and I need to know if they actually live up to the hype.
Painted my toes a couple of weeks back on a whim (oops, totally skipped the prep routine), and now I want to do it properly next time. I already love my glass nail files, so the foot version should be pretty great too. Is it the same as a normal glass nail file or do you want something specific for your foot?

Worth it, at least for mild calluses and rough heels. Make sure it’s one made for feet, with an etched surface and rounded edges. Go light on the pressure and stop once the skin feels smooth.
For your next pedicure, do the filing first, then moisturize. Keep the lotion off your nails and wipe them clean before base coat or the polish won’t stick well.
Don’t file over cracks or anything that looks irritated. If you have diabetes or circulation problems, check with a podiatrist before trying it.
Worth it. Mine has outlasted three of those cheap sandpaper paddles and still works like it did on day one. Cleaning it is just a quick rinse under the tap.
The foot version is a lot bigger than a glass nail file, and the etched surface is much coarser, so it takes down the rough stuff on heels.
Use it on dry skin though, not after a soak. A few passes, then lotion before you do your polish.
Worth it, but don’t expect it to last… smooth heels look fine for a few days then hard floors and sandals rough them up again. I do mine about once a week.
Different from the glass nail file, that’s for toenails. Short strokes and brush off the white dust as you go.
Wiping the lotion off before base coat made a real difference for me, since my polish used to chip within two days.
Skipped wiping the nails for years! Now I do the lotion after filing and go back over each nail with a cotton pad and a little alcohol or acetone before base coat. Hairline split in a heel? Leave that spot alone, it’ll catch on the etched glass and open up more.
Learned that the hard way when my toes chipped in two days, so now I swipe each nail with alcohol before base coat.
Quick rinse, beats sandpaper paddles by a lot! Skin dust stuck in the surface? Soft nail brush and a drop of soap, then let the file air-dry all the way.
